The Gwinnett Arena will be rocking with holiday spirit next Wednesday as Trans-Siberian Orchestra presents the live debut of “The Christmas Attic.”
The Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is performing their rock opera “The Christmas Attic” for the first time ever on their 2024 winter tour, which began on Nov. 13. The original album “The Christmas Attic” was released in 1998 and then re-released as part of “The Christmas Trilogy Box Set” in 2024. The album features one of the band’s most popular songs, “Christmas Canon.”
According to TSO creator, lyricist and composer Paul O’Neill, the first half of the show will include some songs from “The Christmas Attic” that have never been played live — the second half will feature iconic classics and fan favorites, such as “Wizards In Winter,” “Requiem” and “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24.”
“After kicking off the New Year in front of 2 million fans at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, followed by our second European tour, the band felt that a perfect way to end the year would be to perform the only rock opera from the trilogy that has never been seen live,” said O’Neill in a press release. “As I have always said ‘it is fun to write the songs, it is fun to record them, but they are never really completed until we perform them in front of a live arena audience.’”
TSO has sold more than 7 million albums and inspired generations of fans to rediscover the multi-dimensional art form of the rock opera. The band has taken their tour to more than 80 cities worldwide and played to over 7 million people — Billboard magazine named them as one of the top touring artists of the past decade.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra: The Live Debut of The Christmas Attic will be at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Tickets range from $43.00 to $72.00 and are available at GwinnettCenter.com, the Arena at Gwinnett Center box office or by calling 888-9-AXS-TIX.
